Neon Hammer

The sign has nine bulbs and one flaw: they light up out of order and go dark on their own. You have 30 seconds and a hammer. Every lit bulb you hammer is worth one point — and the sign gets faster with every hit.

Getting started

  1. Switch on the sign. The 30-second clock starts along with the first bulb.
  2. Hammer the lit bulb. Click or tap it before it goes dark on its own.
  3. Save your swings. Hitting a dark bulb counts as a swing in the dark.
  4. Handle the speed-up. With every hit, the bulbs go dark a little sooner.
  5. Finish the 30 seconds. The final scoreboard shows hits and wasted swings.

Hammering tips

  • Fix your eyes on the center of the sign: peripheral vision finds the lit bulb faster.
  • On a phone, use both thumbs — each one covers half the sign.
  • Missed one? Let it go. Chasing a bulb that has already gone dark costs you the next one.
